SUMMARY OF THE CONSULTANCY:
The
Individual SSA EPI Specialist will support Banda Aceh FO in continuing
strengthening Provincial and District capacity for quality service delivery at
Posyandu and Puskesmas level to increase immunization coverage, and improve the
surveillance system.
Duties and
Responsibilities:
Over
a period of 6 months, the following task will be accomplished through provision
of technical assistance to provincial/district/Puskesmas and Posyandu teams.
§
Familiarize Province wide EPI current data
and analysis by desk reviews of existing records, reports (especially
endorsement notes of recent consultant), surveys, 2012 work plans/results ,
lessons learned, other relevant documents and dialogues with partners. Based on
desk review findings, SSA will prepare a plan of work for the next 5 months.
§
Using the Reaching Every District Framework
analysis, and in consensus with the province/district staff, continue to
provide technical assistance in the top 6 priority districts by ensuring that
districts have complete quality situation analysis of the Immunization
programme with micro-plans, that
highlights mapping of unserved areas, increase in attendance of mothers in
puskesmas and posyandu; increase in quality and number of vaccination sessions
in posyandu outreach and mobile sessions, uniform use of single cohort book as basis for recording and
reporting and reinforce child/woman defaulter tracking system on immunization.
§
Advocate at Province and District level that
BIAS Measles and TT vaccination is conducted in all districts especially in
Aceh Barat Daya & Pidie Jaya where BIAS measles was not conducted in first
class in 2011. Use surveillance and coverage data reports and analysis as tools
for advocacy.
§
Coordinating and assisting in Vaccine
Preventable Disease Surveillance and government outbreak investigation response
at all levels; using and linking VPD surveillance in coverage performance in
the analysis and aim to achieve at least 50% suspected measles cases submit to
laboratory test; assist in the organization and facilitation in August Workshop
on Surveillance with PHO

Evaluate the introduction of the updated
Midwife Curriculum in June course in Poltekes Banda Aceh
PROFILE OF THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
·
Advanced University degree in Publich Health
with Medical Doctor background; Specific Technical Knowledge in community-based
program in Public Health, immunization, maternal neonatal and child health.
·
Having at least 6 (six) years of professional
work experience in related field of experience dealing with community-based
program in public health, immunization, maternal neonatal and child health.
·
Analytical, written and verbal communication
skills
·
Proven ability to draft
reports in English
·
Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia is
essential
