Interprofessional Education (IPE) and Quality Improvement of Health Services.
By Muhamad Zulfatul A'la, Nursing Student of Gadjah Mada University
‘The Winner of Essay Competition 2nd HPEQ International Conference (Nursing)’

Collaboration between  the health professions is an attempt to improve the quality of  health services. It is based on the opinion of Hind (2003) which states that collaboration  is an attempt to improve the quality of health services. The collaboration was so extensive in that definition. In this paper the authors want to see collaboration of the education system. Why education? This is because the education  is the base of  character building that’s need  the formal education
WHO (1988) has made a grand design on the character building of collaboration  in the formal education  that is interprofessional education. Interprofessional education (IPE) is an implementation of  learning followed by two or more different professions to improve collaboration and quality of  health service and the implementation  can be done in academic phase and clinical placement phase  (Lee, 2009 ).
Some experts expressed IPE can be the basis in forming collaborations. Like the opinion of Mendez et. al., (2008) IPE is the potential as a medium for collaboration among health professionals to impart knowledge and skill base in the inter-professional education. Coster, et. al., (2008) reinforces the idea Mendez et. al., (2008) that the IPE is essential in helping the development of the concept of cooperation among existing professional and tingah attitudes by promoting a positive attitude among the professions involved in it.
IPE has been applied in the health sciences university with majors in how many countries and many studies have been published in several scientific journals. As with any research Ker et. al., (2007) which states that students' perceptions about the implementation of the IPE is a positive value. Research Coster et. al. (2008) about the readiness of students to the IPE shows the average scores are higher for students of nursing, midwifery, dentistry, medicine, physiotherapy, pharmacy, nutrition, health and occupational therapy.
How in Indonesia? Quality of service in Indonesia has increased with changes in the health care system. Based on some opinions and research experts IPE can be used as one of improving the quality of health services in Indonesia. According to data DIKTI (2006) there are 12 State Universities in Indonesia are conducting a formal education of health professions in which there is a doctor of education programs and nursing education. With the university who organized several health professions education programs will frequent interaction and collaboration between health professions. This has become one of the advantages for the development of the concept of IPE in Indonesia. Already the issue of IPE should be developed and followed up seriously. Faculty is one of the faculty who conduct educational programs which three different professions: doctor Education, Science nursing and health nutrition. Faculty already started in the development of IPE in the grand design of integrated education was attempted developed by the Medical Education (CPC) of the Faculty. Some pilot research has been done in the development of interprofessional education efforts. Fauziah Research (2010a) states that professional students of the Faculty of Physicians and nurses professional programs have a good perception and readiness of the IPE. As with any research A'la (2010) also mentioned that student academic stage or stages of an undergraduate of the Faculty of Education Study Program physicians, nursing and health nutrition have a good perception and preparedness.
IPE can be a college application experts from several educational backgrounds such as doctors, nurses and nutritionists, as well as discussions in solving the case with the approach of some aspects of health. approach these two methods in simulation programs IPE can improve student attitudes about the collaboration of the Faculty finish. (Fauziah, 2010b).

Conclusion
IPE should be developed in Indonesia with some basic research both abroad and in Indonesia as an effort to improve the quality of health services.
